Why Are Feet So Important?
Did you know that there are 26 bones, 33 joints, and more than 100 muscles, tendons, and ligaments in each of your feet?
In a perfect world, all of those elements articulate and glide easily, creating a strong foundation for the rest of your body.
But in reality, our feet are tied up all day in shoes. They become contracted, the bones narrow, and the muscles atrophy from lack of use. Fascia begin to fuse our bones, muscles, and tendons together so that our feet can’t function properly — which we don’t notice until our bodies start to break down.
In addition, your feet contain reflex points that affect your entire body. Through my experience working with people’s feet (including my own!), it’s my opinion that aging and breakdown begin in the feet and travel upward.
